Highlight of the month

Matt Rugg: How to be an Artist (2023)

A film commissioned by University of Newcastle for the Matt Rugg: Connecting Form exhibition at the Hatton Gallery earlier this year.

Phyllida Barlow: Peninsula (2004) [SD 4:3]

Twenty years ago, I made this video of Matt Rugg’s friend and colleague (at Chelsea School of Art). This was one of my favourite exhibitions at BALTIC and so it seems like a good time to revisit it.

Artwork in the top video is Pavan by Barbara Hepworth, with Mary Potter paintings in the background, filmed at Roche Court Sculpture Park for a short film to be released early in 2025
